Things to Know Before Ordering
-
The best way to order is through my Etsy shop or by contacting me at whimsybirdcreative@gmail.com. Before placing your order, I recommend reviewing my gallery to get familiar with my painting style and the commission information page for helpful photo guidelines.
-
Revisions are limited to the sketch stage. One digital sketch review is included before painting begins if requested. Once painting has started, the piece cannot be changed.
Please share all key details during the sketch stage, as this is the only revision opportunity. Final artwork may include minor artistic interpretation in my style.
To request a sketch review, please indicate this when submitting your reference images.
-
Backgrounds are included in all commissions at no additional cost. They are kept soft and minimal to keep focus on the subject. You may also request no background for a simplified composition. Backgrounds are interpreted in a soft, painterly style based on the reference images and overall composition.
-
I offer an optional consultation to review sketches, references, or special requests before the painting begins via Google Meet or a similar platform.
Each commission also includes one digital sketch review stage to confirm direction before moving into the final painting.
Calls are available by scheduled appointment on weekends from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM CST and Monday–Thursday from 6:00–9:00 PM CST.

Commissioned paintings are typically completed within 3–5 weeks after I receive your images, depending on current workload. If you need your painting sooner, please contact me before ordering. Free standard U.S. shipping is included. If rush shipping is available and requested, any additional cost is the buyer’s responsibility.
-
Available original artworks ship within 1 week. Delivery takes 3–7 business days, so most orders arrive within 1–2 weeks.

Paper: Arches Cold Press 300gsm watercolor paper.

-
Each piece is hand-painted and begins with a light sketch, so faint graphite marks or sketch lines may occasionally remain visible. These subtle details are part of the traditional watercolor process and add to the handmade character of the artwork.

Commissioned Artwork
Commissioned artwork is final sale and cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged.Original Artwork
Original paintings may be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they remain in their original sealed clear protective sleeve containing the artwork with the tamper-evident seal intact.Once the sealed protective sleeve is opened, the artwork is no longer eligible for return or refund due to the delicate nature of watercolor originals.
Items must be returned in their original condition. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and returns must include tracking and insurance for the full value of the artwork.
If an item is returned damaged or not in its original condition, the refund may be adjusted to reflect any loss in value.
-
Commissions are available for shipping within the United States only. Orders are shipped via USPS Ground Advantage and typically include tracking, insurance, and free standard shipping. Delivery usually takes 3–7 business days after shipment, though delays may occur due to carrier conditions.
Orders over $200 require a signature upon delivery.
Each artwork is carefully packaged in protective materials to help ensure safe delivery.
Please ensure your shipping address is correct at checkout. Orders returned due to incorrect or incomplete addresses may require additional shipping fees to be reshipped or may be canceled if delivery cannot be completed.
While each order is packaged with care, I cannot be responsible for delays, loss, or damage once a package has shipped. If your order has not arrived within a reasonable timeframe, please contact me so I can assist with a carrier claim.
-
In the rare event that a package arrives damaged, all shipments are insured. Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the damaged item and packaging. Once reviewed, I will help determine the appropriate resolution.
-
I reserve the right to decline or cancel an order if a project is not a good fit or cannot be completed as requested. This helps ensure each piece meets my quality and artistic standards. Orders may also be declined if communication is inappropriate or the request falls outside my scope.
-
I work exclusively in my own artistic style and do not replicate other styles. Please review my gallery before ordering to ensure my style aligns with your vision.
